INNOVATIONS
Endoscopic Cosmetic Surgery
In the ever expanding search for minimally invasive and short scar cosmetic surgery and aesthetic plastic surgery, comes the advent of Endoscopic Cosmetic and Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Key hole and short scar surgery is possible in Cosmetic Surgery in the areas of
1 Breast augmentation (enlargement) - ( done via the trans-axillary route) under endoscopic control. The absence of the scar on the breast, and the excellent siting of the scar on the axilla within the crease, allow this procedure to be a virtual scar less breast augmentation. A breast pocket is created through an incision in the axilla. Using the endoscope this pocket is developed, and then the silicone implant is placed in the pocket. Within a few months, the axillary cut heals so well, that there is hardly any scar visible in the axilla at all
2 Endoscopic mini abdominoplasty ( mini tummy tuck) – in a mini tummy tuck, the loose excess skin in the lower part of the abdomen (tummy) is removed along with some excess fat, in an attempt to give a more shapier abdomen. The tightening of the muscles of the upper abdomen is done via an endocope control. This is an excellent procedure to get a much tighter and better shaped abdomen. The small scar is easily hidden in the groin crease
3 Endoscopic calf augmentation – some girls ( and some men), feel very conscious about their calf region. They feel that the calf is very thin, compared to the rest of the body, and are averse to wearing clothes which expose their calf. A small cut is given on the back of the knee, and using endoscopic control, a pocket is made within the calf muscles. Then a customized implant is placed within this pocket,, to give a more desirable calf
4 Gluteal enlargement ( buttock augmentation) – the need for the perfect rear is never ending. This part of the body is considered very important for the “sex appeal”. It is possible to enlarge the buttocks with silicone implants through a small cut made in the region between the buttocks. Then using special endoscopic instruments, a space is made within the buttock muscles, and the implant is placed in this space.
VASER
VASER assisted lipoplasty (VAL) is a significant technological improvement over liposuction. The fatty tissue is initially emulsified using low frequency ultrasound vibrations. These vibrations are transmitted by special metal probes, which are available in different sizes according to the need of energy delivery to specific areas. The highly selective nature of VASER, is a reason for reduced complications in terms of injury to nerves, blood vessels, lymphatics and other tissues. This is the 3rd generations ultrasound assisted liposuction which unlike the previous ultrasound based treatments delivers much less intensity of power to the tissues.
The energy which is delivered to the tissues is delivered in a pulsed manner, which decreases the overall energy amount, but increases the intensity at a particular point, this increasing the effectiveness.
Once the fat is emulsified, it is then aspirated with the use of liposuction canulas. The property of VASER to act just below the skin, allows for much greater skin contraction, and much better figure corrections than conventional liposuction. In addition the safety of the procedure, allows for much larger volumes of fat to be aspirated, safely. In our view, VASER is significantly better for tougher fibrous areas such as the breast, hips, and thighs. In these areas, the fat is much tougher, due to higher amount of fibrous tissue. VASER is easily able to emulsify fat in these regions by adjusting the probe power and mode of energy production. Specifically, procedures like breast lift, breast reduction, thigh shaping, buttocks shaping can be done with almost no scar at all.
VASER shares the same safety profile as Liposuction, with lesser chances of bleeding and pain. Good post operative recovery, excellent results, allow the patient to reduce the downtime and enjoy greater satisfaction levels.
